Functions

The Universities and Boards Department Sindh possesses the administration and financial control of the higher education sector in the province of Sindh, with more than 27 public sector universities, 8 boards and 2 attached departments. We practice the following rules of business mandate:

  • Education from Matric to Postgraduate Level
  • Coordination in International Educational Programs
  • Grant of Scholarships and Aid
  • Scientific Research Facilitation
  • Handling of Public Libraries and Libraries in Schools.
  • Maintaining of Historical Records and Archives

Our Challenges

Besides the educational goals and vision, we are facing challenges in the educational sector in our province. The Universities and Board Department Sindh wishes to provide its service to the students and the faculty/staff members in order to expand their exposure to the modern global village. In doing so, we expect the institutions to benchmark at the global standard of education by adapting to educational facilities and programs being practiced throughout the globe. Here are our main challenges:

  • To Improve quality of higher education in remote areas of Sindh
    • To provide qualified faculty/staff members to rural areas
    • Aid vocational programs in backward areas to motivate the local populace
