Initiative of ICT Setup in Public Sector Universities of Sindh

A meeting under the chair of Mr. Muhammad Mureed Rahimoon, Secretary, Universities and Boards (U&B) Department was convened today on 18th January, 2023 which was attended by all Vice Chancellors of the Public Sector Universities of Sindh Province.

Mr. Asif Ikram, Secretary, Information Technology Department and Dr. Rasheed Masood, Additional Secretary (Services-II), SGA&CD also attended the meeting on special invitation of the Secretary, U&B Department.

The agenda of the meeting was to sensitize the VCs to transform and focus upon Information Technology initiatives of the Government aiming to produce graduates who can be consumed locally and internationally in contemporary IT era. The Secretary, U&B Department asked for assigning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to a group of 50-100 bright students duly assisted by respective IT Personnel in all Public Sector Universities to generate resources and earn in dollars by acquiring different online projects through freelancing.

The Secretary, IT appreciated the untiring efforts of Secretary, U&B Department and also assured to provide technical assistance and training in strengthening IT Personnel of the public sector universities. Besides, the Secretary, U&B Department emphasized the VCs to maintain a data of the bright students vis-à-vis their placement in Multinational Companies and their contribution to the economy/GDP of the country.
